Privacy Policy

How Lunapad handles information for the website, docs, hosted app, managed hosting inquiries, and support requests.

Scope

This Privacy Policy covers Lunapad websites and services operated by Lunapad, including lunapad.dev, the documentation, app.lunapad.dev, and managed hosting inquiries. Self-hosted Lunapad instances are controlled by the person or organization running that instance. Their privacy practices are their responsibility.

Open-source activity on GitHub, calendar scheduling on Cal.com, and other third-party sites linked from Lunapad are also covered by those providers' own policies.

Information Lunapad collects

Website and docs usage: pages viewed, referring pages, browser and device details, approximate location derived from network information, timestamps, and page leave events. Lunapad uses PostHog analytics in production and does not initialize it during local development.

Preferences: the site stores your theme preference in local storage so the page can reopen in your chosen theme.

Account and app information: if you use the hosted app, Lunapad may process account details, authentication/session data, workspace settings, notebooks, comments, reports, query metadata, uploaded files, connection configuration, and other content you choose to create or connect.

Contact and managed hosting inquiries: name, email address, calendar details, company or team context, and the information you provide when you email Lunapad or book a managed hosting call.

Security and operations: logs, diagnostics, abuse-prevention signals, and information needed to keep the service working and investigate problems.

How Lunapad uses information

Lunapad uses information to provide the site and app, authenticate accounts, operate workspaces, respond to questions, schedule managed hosting conversations, improve product quality, measure site usage, protect the service, debug issues, enforce terms, and comply with legal obligations.

Lunapad does not sell personal information. It also does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the change applies.

Data you put in Lunapad

Lunapad is built to keep analysis close to the environment you choose. Browser-first and self-hosted workflows can keep files and data under your control. If you use the hosted app, managed hosting, connected warehouses, third-party AI providers, or integrations, the data needed for those features may be processed by those services.

Do not upload or connect regulated data, such as protected health information, payment card data, or data that requires a specific compliance agreement, unless Lunapad has separately agreed to support that use in writing.

Service providers

Lunapad uses service providers only as needed to operate, secure, understand, and improve the service. Current public providers include PostHog for analytics, Cal.com for scheduling, GitHub for open-source hosting and issues, Google Fonts for font delivery, and hosting, email, and infrastructure providers that support the site or app.

If you choose to configure an AI provider, database, warehouse, or other integration, that provider may process the information you send to it under its own terms and privacy policy.

Cookies, local storage, and opt-out signals

Lunapad uses local storage for theme preference and may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for hosted app sessions, security, and analytics. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and local storage, but some app features may stop working.

Lunapad does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because of that, there is no sale/share opt-out link at this time. If Lunapad receives a recognized privacy preference signal that applies to a future sale or sharing activity, Lunapad will treat it as required by applicable law.

Retention

Lunapad keeps personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the service, maintaining records, resolving disputes, securing the service, and meeting legal obligations. Workspace content is generally kept while the account or workspace remains active unless it is deleted or a valid deletion request applies.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, information about sharing, and non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights. California residents may also request to know, delete, correct, and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where those rights apply.

To make a privacy request, email [email protected]. Lunapad may ask for information needed to verify and process your request. You may also contact [email protected] for general questions.

Security

Lunapad uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no internet service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. Please report suspected vulnerabilities privately through [email protected].

Children

Lunapad is intended for professional and technical work. It is not directed to children, and Lunapad does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International access

Lunapad and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from where you live.

Changes

Lunapad may update this Privacy Policy as the product, providers, or law changes. The effective date above will change when the policy changes materially.
